Currently based in Orange County, California, Saeed Danosian is
the product of an eclectic background of experiences in the arts.
He pursued a program in interior design at the Bel Art Academy
in Rome in the mid-70's, and from 1979 to 1985 studied further
at the Vienna Dramatic Arts Academy, earning his baccalaureate
degree in set design for the theater in 1983 and his master's
degree in set design and art direction in 1985. In addition to
his areas of major concentration, his studies included film and
television, costume design, art history, and music. He worked
in the area of set design at both the Burgtheater and Wiener Staatsoper
(Vienna State Opera)
Since coming to the Southern California area in 1987, Danosian
has become firmly entrenched in its art world and contributes
to it in many ways. He has taught at National University, Platt
College (Cerritos) and the Orange County Arts Academy where he
has frequently offered workshops in the area for art students
of all ages and experiences. Since January 2005, Danosian has
been teaching at Westwood College where he is the Director of
the Interior Design Department at the present time. He has written
about art extensively, including a monthly series entitled "Arts
and Humanity" which ran for several years in a local newspaper.
Danosian also had a TV show called "The Art of Living"
for 2 years.
As an artist, he has created commissioned murals for the Mc Donald's
Corporation (1200 sq ft) and the San Juan Capistrano Mission Museum
(100 sq ft), and he has averaged about four exhibits a year since
1990 at art shows and other venues including the Art-A-Fair Festival
in Laguna Beach. He most recently displayed his work at Cove Gallery
in Laguna Beach, where he was until March 2004.
His unique and highly acclaimed stage designs have been showcased
at concerts at Kodak Theater in 2003, the Alex Theater in Glendale
and the Persian concert series in Las Vegas in December 2003 at
the Rio Hotel and Casino. Danosian is also actively involved in
the community having been in charge of the Art and Stage Design
for the yearly Mehregan Festival in Orange County. In 2005, he
honored to have the opportunity to personally present his painting
"Lady Liberty (9/11)" to Senator Hillary Clinton.
